Emma and Cole first met at Cole’s family’s restaurant, the Queen Street Diner, right after her sister’s bridal shower. Neither of them could have known at the moment how important that meeting would become.
Although they had met in 2020, they didn’t start dating until June of 2021. The beginning of their relationship wasn’t without challenges. “The first 6 months of our relationship we were faced with some pretty hard times and we stuck with each other through it all and were each other’s shoulder to cry on,” Emma shared. It was during that time, about six months in, that she realized he was the one.
When Cole proposed, it took Emma by surprise. “When he first asked me I thought he wasn’t being serious so I asked him if he was,” she recalled.
He had been nervous leading up to it, so much so that, as she described, “before he actually did it he was so nervous he drove around on the golf cart for 20 mins trying to find the perfect place to do it.”
The proposal itself was nothing short of memorable, but what stayed with Emma most was what followed: “The memory from that day that makes me smile most is going back and telling my family. They were all very excited and it was one of my favorite parts.”
For them, engagement had already changed things in a meaningful way. “Being engaged has made us closer and our relationship more strong because we really are learning to compromise more and just enjoy every little moment together,” Emma shares. It feels like a journey of sticking together, learning from each other and enjoying all the little moments along the way, which we call love.
Wishing them both a future filled with the same strength, joy and closeness that brought them here today.
