The Proposal

It was during their college years that Makayla and Jarod first crossed paths. They were both part of a track team, which allowed them to spend lots of time together. It was through those shared moments that their bond grew deeper. 

When it came to the proposal, Makayla was hit with a wave of emotions she wasn’t expecting. She remembers it so clearly, saying, “I quite literally forgot how to breathe during the proposal.” And when the box opened, revealing the ring, she was in complete awe. “I was shocked at how the light made the stone sparkle,” she shares. It wasn’t just the ring that took her breath away though, it must be the entire moment, the love and promises they were about to make. As she said yes, she was filled with a rush of excitement and joy. “Excitement, joy and love” were the words she used to describe the emotions that flooded her heart.

The Wedding

Planning their wedding felt like a bit of a rollercoaster, as Makayla puts it, “The planning process had a little of every emotion, at times it was stressful, exciting, and at times overwhelming.” Despite those challenges, she and Jarod found the process to be a chance to grow closer. “Despite the rollercoaster of emotions while planning, we both really enjoyed the process and used it as an opportunity to grow closer together.”

Their wedding took place in South Central Nebraska, and looking back, the entire day was full of moments that still bring smiles to their faces. “Just about everything from that day still makes us smile,” Makayla shares, which speaks to the joy they felt in every part of their celebration.

Life After "I Do"

Planning the wedding together brought excitement and challenges, but it also taught them teamwork, resilience and the joy of building a shared future. Now living in Lincoln, NE, life after the wedding has only deepened their connection. 

As they continue to build their life together, we couldn’t be happier to have played a small part in their unforgettable moment. It’s a love story that continues to sparkle just like the ring that marked the beginning of their forever.
